A Non-surgical, Cutting-edge Solution

Achieve a thicker, fuller, healthier head of hair

For both men and women, hair loss can be devastating to experience first-hand. At Prism Medical, we are proud to offer a modern, innovative solution for hair loss with little down-time and one that can produce lasting results. Concentrated growth factors from a patient's platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can stimulate, repair, enhance, and regenerate aging hair follicles. The extracted PRP can be directly injected or microneedled into the scalp of patients who are either predisposed to hair loss or those experiencing active hair loss.

PRP is an optimal treatment for maintaining newly implanted hair follicles from a transplant surgery. Dr. Buckle will work closely with you to determine the underlying cause(s) of your hair loss or thinning and offer solutions alongside PRP that are both safe and effective for your situation.

The process

For most patients, a series of 3-6 PRP treatments, spaced 6 weeks apart, will be needed to achieve maximum results. PRP injections for hair regeneration usually take approximately 3 months on average to show its full effects. To assess for improvement, a follow up appointment after 90 days is usually done at our office. Dr. Buckle typically recommends 2 PRP treatments per year to maintain stimulation, promoting new growth and maintaining lasting results you’ll be proud to show off.

Risks involved

It might sound scary, but for the most part, there's no real risk associated with PRP. In most procedures minor numbing will be administered to negate any possible pain. In the event there is any discomfort, natural pain relievers after the procedure are recommended. Bruising can occur but usually resolves within a week or two.

Who it works for

Anyone experiencing hair loss is essentially a good candidate for PRP treatments, but those with early hair loss tend to respond best. PRP is also best used for patients with androgenic alopecia, which is a genetically determined type of hair thinning that typically occurs along the top of the head. In women, this might look like a widening part with normal hair thickness at the back of the head.
